EAWOP Small Group Meeting: New Frontiers in Employability Research
On Thursday June 28th and Friday June 29th 2018, I participated in a small group meeting on employability, organized at Technical University Eindhoven, Netherlands, and hosted by Pascale Le Blanc and Beatrice van der Heijden. Around 30 employability scholars gathered to discuss their latest research on employability, sustainable careers, aging, and other related studies. It was a highly inspiring meeting, featuring keynotes from Mel Fugate (about future direction for employability research) and Sjoerd Romme (about an organizational perspective on employability), and various types of studies ranging from conceptual ones to empirical ones.
We also presented our own conceptual paper on sustainable careers, which has just been accepted by the Journal of Vocational Behavior. In this paper, we present a conceptual model for studying sustainability of careers, and reflect on possible theoretical framework that may help us do so. The slides are below:
