Invited Research Talk at Ghent University
On December 8th, 2021, I gave an invited online research talk at Ghent University. During this talk, I discussed a research agenda around the topic of career shocks. Among other things, we discussed why we need to study the role of disruptive events in people's careers and we talked about some of the emerging conceptual and empirical work in this area. In addition, we had a "meet the editor" session where I shared some experiences of my 3.5 years (and 250+ papers) of experience as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Vocational Behavior. Although I would have loved to visit my colleagues in Belgium, it was also great to discuss these topics with them virtually. Let's hope it sparks some ideas for future research in this area. I guess it did as I already received to friendly review invitations for ongoing research about career shocks!
