New Article on Careers and Career Development in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia
We recently published a new article as part of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia that offers a broad introduction into the field of careers and career development. In this article, Daniel Spurk, Nadya Fouad, and I provide a comprehensive overview of influential theories and concepts in this area of research. For example, we discuss boundaryless and protean career theory, career construction theory, and social cognitive career theory. We also briefly discuss other important theories, such as the kaleidoscope career model and research on sustainable careers. Furthermore, we introduce a range of concepts in the field, such as organizational and individual career management, employability, calling, and career transitions and shocks. The article is a nice way to become familiar with research in the area of careers and career development.
