Special issue on careers of project managers officially published in the Project Management Journal
We are excited that our special issue about career paths and career systems of project managers has officially been published in the Project Management Journal. We worked hard on this issue for almost three years and are grateful to the authors and reviewers for all of their support and hard work during the process. Ultimately, we ended up with a very nice issue of five empirical studies, a review article and our introduction article to tie it all together. The contributions in the special issue shed new light on paths into the project management profession, as well as development in the profession. The review article, that I also contributed to, shows that there is a lot of potential left for integrating the fields of career studies and project management. In our introduction article, we reflect on developments in the field, the contributions that all the articles make, and we propose an agenda for future research. I hope you will enjoy reading the issue!
